Heu... I read about your struggle, also how beyond blue are trying to the connect with you. Are you able to call lifeline and speak with someone there? I am also sure your siblings would help you at this time as well. We are also here for you also.

I have called Lifeline. I appreciate all Beyond Blue have done. My sister is religious and blamed me yesterday for the way I am. I am spiritually repressed. My other sister doesn't talk to me and my brother has no idea what to do. I am stuck. But thank you for the ideas.

Do you feel as though you are spirituality repressed as you put it? Even though I might have faith I certainly do not believe for one minute you are to blame for anything. I have also been on the receiving end of some religious folk.

Your brother while not knowing what to do perhaps only needs to be able to listen and learn from your story? That is, assuming he is able to listen to you.

I can also listen to you tell your story and respond. This is a safe and non judgmental space.

If you don't want to share much if your story now perhaps you could tell me of some things you like? Or anything else. I would just like to know a little more about you. Is that ok?

    Hi Truetomyself,

We’re so sorry to hear that. That must be awful. We’re glad you could share here. We have some advice, and we think it will be helpful to hear from the community, too.

It might help to have a look at some of our advice pages on these topics: It’s worth bearing in mind that the Beyond Blue counsellors are available 24/7, so you can call them when you’re going through it if you think it might help to talk it through with them. They’ll be able to work through some grounding techniques with you, and can help you to figure out what you’re next steps are if you need some more support with this.

    We hope that helps.

    Kind regards,

    Sophie M

It must be scary to the have these and then wake up like that. I could say to talk with your GP about it. At the time, you could get up (?) and try to relax. Do you have any apps that might help here?

And coming of medication is very hard... there is one my father was on that he went off too quickly. So they decided to alter the speed. ie rather than drop by say 1/2 to drop by only 1/4.

This might sound like a cliche - you are getting through each day and that is enough. It may not seem like it but it shows your strength and determination.

    Listening to you

for agoraphobia, most places will recommend medication and therapy. the following link (see below) also refers to education and relaxation...

    https://www.healthdirect.gov.au/agoraphobia#treated

also the Vic government has some useful information as well...

    https://www.betterhealth.vic.gov.au/health/conditionsandtreatments/agoraphobia

    hope that helps.

    How was your day?

I do agree with smallwolf that if there is a medication issue a GP may be able to assist?

Hello Truetomyself, one way to overcome agoraphobia is by trying a technique called desensitization which you can do by yourself or with a specialised counsellor, but it's not up to your parents to decide whether or not you should be taking any medication, that's a decision between you and your doctor and they don't need to know if you are taking it, if you are able to get the help of someone who can purchase it for you.

If your father is causing you to feel like this, then are you able to move somewhere else.

    Geoff.
