    Recently when i’ve felt sad i try to match how i feel with the music i listen to, and it’s rlly helped me identify the feelings that i don’t realise i’m having. that sounds positive but i’m not even sure if it is at this point. A few lyrics from phoebe bridgers’ song “Funeral” really resonate with me.

    “Jesus Christ, I'm so blue all the time
    And that's just how I feel
    Always have and I always will
    I always have and always will”

    They’re super simple lyrics, but they just encapsulate how i feel so much. Being depressed makes me view my whole life up to the depression as sad. And not surprisingly the future too. I might be autistic so i’ve always felt weird and misplaced everywhere so that only adds to the feeling. it’s nearly been a year since I was diagnosed with depression and I definitely don’t feel as low as i did then, but i wouldn’t say im much better either. So yeah. why am i so sad? All the time? will it ever go away? *shrug*

    Sorry you are feeling this way…

    I understand feeling sad can be difficult……

    I too use to have a sad feeling inside, I decided to change the way I viewed the world and people in my world. I practiced gratefulness, mindfulness, tell myself positive things about myself and look at things with a different perspective…… it took time but my internal world is now a calmer positive world I feel happy and content..

    Do you see a health professional currently?

    I'm so sorry to hear about your continual sadness. I know how much it sucks to be sad all the time - I cycle in and out of periods of sadness. Just know that there is a light at the end of the tunnel, and there are many different ways to get there.

    I think it's great that you've found music as a form of coming to terms with your feelings. As a singer/songwriter myself, I've always said that music is a kind of therapy for me. It's true, music helps you connect with feelings that you didn't know you had, or can't put into words easily.

    It may be worth having a chat to a psychologist or a therapist and seeing what they recommend. Otherwise, we're always here to have a casual chat with you if there's something else you'd like to get off your chest :)

    Hello The_last_time, it's not easy to measure your depression from last year until now, because it may be better or it may be worse.

    When we listen to music that we love, we can assimilate with the tune and all the words that are sung, and they do affect us in so many ways that we are unable to explain to anyone how much you can get absorbed in that song, people can't understand the strength that song has on us.
